One-of-a-Kind Walnut End Grain Butcher Block Cutting Board – 20.5" x 17.5"

$200.00

A Heirloom-Grade Statement Piece for the Culinary Enthusiast

Crafted by From Tree to Table®, this one-of-a-kind Walnut End Grain Butcher Block combines elite culinary functionality with natural, heirloom craftsmanship. Featuring a rich mosaic of deep walnut tones, each section showcases distinctive radial growth rings and figure patterns that make this board unique—no two will ever be identical.

Why End Grain? End grain construction arranges the wood fibers vertically, allowing knife blades to slide between the fibers rather than slicing across them. This self-healing design protects edge sharpness on high-end kitchen knives and significantly reduces surface gouging over time.

Finished with a high-performance conversion varnish, this board offers exceptional resistance to moisture and wear, serving equally well as a robust meat carving station, prep block, or luxury charcuterie serving board.

Working & finishing

Typically easy to work when the grain is straight; planer tear-out can show on irregular or figured grain, so figured slabs get a light final pass or the drum sander. Sands cleanly, glues well and holds screws well. Oil and hardwax oil finishes deepen the brown without a film and are how most OCC walnut leaves the shop; a film finish suits tops that need spill protection over feel.

Care

Wipe spills promptly and clean with a damp cloth, no harsh cleaners. Expect the color to lighten a shade over years in direct sun, and expect a little seasonal width movement across the top. Refresh a hardwax oil finish with a thin maintenance coat when the surface looks dry.
