Finishes
Polyurethane | Rubio Monocoat | Powder Coat
AT Oak City Customs, we Typically apply the Following finishes
Polyurethane
Polyurethane wood finish is used to coat surfaces, protecting them from scratches and helping to resist water damage. Polyurethane finish will give a more full grain fill effect to your product meaning it is a coating that sits on top of the wood and will even out and fill the grain. The result is a more smooth and highly cleanable surface over Rubiomonocoat.
Applying Satin Polyurethane gives wood furniture a smooth finish while improving its durability and results in a satin and natural looking finish. At Oak City Customs, this is the most common finish that we apply to wood.
All table-tops will receive a minimum of 2 applications on the bottom-surface and a minimum of 3 applications on the top-surface. This is the most durable and cleanable option!

Polyurethane | Rubio Monocoat
Rubio Monocoat
Rubio Monocoat is a plant-based, hardwax oil wood finish that is 0% VOC, durable, matte and keeps the natural look and feel of the wood. Unless specified, we will apply the "Pure" color, which is a clear finish. This finish is applied with one coat to both the top and bottom surfaces.
This finish will leave a more natural look than polyurethane with less grain fill, as it soaks into the wood rather than sitting on top of the wood!

Powder Coat
We use powder coat for most all our metal finishes. This is typically the strongest finish than can be applied to metal. It can also easily be touched up down the road by applying a fresh coat directly on top of the original.
We currently offer 14 color options on our site, with over 6,000 color options available for a $150 add-on charge! Want to view all available options?
