Elevate your custom table build with the sculptural Fontana Table Legs, an exclusive one-of-one set handcrafted under our signature From Tree to Table® ethos.

Milled from solid, premium white oak, each base features a softly rounded barrel silhouette centered with a carved circular aperture, blending mid-century organic modernism with bold architectural presence. Deep natural fissures and character voids have been stabilized and filled with rich black epoxy, highlighting the tree's natural narrative while providing structural integrity.

Finished in an ultra-durable conversion varnish, the wood showcases warm, golden medullary ray flecks and subtle grain motion while resisting everyday spills, moisture, and wear. At 18 inches high and 18 inches wide, this matching pair is sized for coffee tables, accent benches, low consoles, or custom credenzas.

Working & finishing

Machines cleanly with hand and power tools and scores near the top in machinability, but flat sawn boards have mediocre dimensional stability and cup as humidity shifts. Tannin blackens on contact with wet iron, so use stainless or coated fasteners and no steel wool before water-based finishes. Oil or hardwax oil leaves the coarse texture in hand; a grain-filled film finish gives a smoother, more protected kitchen top.

Care

Wipe standing water and spills promptly; the heartwood resists rot but the finish and the wood's movement are what a spill tests. Expect noticeable seasonal width movement in a wide top and a base that allows it. Refresh oil finishes with a thin maintenance coat as the surface dulls.
